Ecwid at An Epic Omnichannel Experience

On March 25th-31st, the Ecwid team participated in the world’s largest web hosting and cloud event — WorldHostingDays (WHD) at Europa-Park, Germany’s largest theme park located near the French and Swiss borders.

WHD set a new record with 6,500 attendees. Many of the top thought leaders from around the world participated in sharing the latest technologies and their powerful partnerships, including speakers from Duda, Weebly, GoDaddy, Kingston, IBM and many more.

We got pretty serious about our booth and created the Ecwid Surf Shop — a demo omnichannel store that supported five seamlessly integrated sales channels right at the conference.

Here’s what the space looked like:

Every attendee was able to participate in a real-time omnichannel shopping experience with the WordPress + Ecwid website, Ecwid Instant Site, ShopApp, Facebook store, POS integration and more. They were also able to live the customer shopping experience from the beautiful ocean-themed store with the Ecwid Mobile App and Square while playing a ring-on-a-string game in between.

We met with a lot of partners — Duda, Yola, Resello, Websplanet, Weebly, cm4all, SitePro and many others, and showed them some of the latest e-commerce innovations we are working on.

The excellent format of this event proves its effectiveness each year. The theme park with a powerful infrastructure is an excellent location to host the top thought leaders in the technology industry. Beyond the location, there is no better event to attend and you don’t want to miss any part of it. In the evenings, everyone had fun together. As a result, the event is highly focused and productive.

Innovations and Fun

WHD is unique for its fun and inspiring atmosphere that resulted in a lot of relationship building.

Not only top thought leaders were present, but also some talented guests such as Ben Gibbons from ZZ Top, Laura Dekker, the youngest around-the-world sailor, and a revolutionary composer Phillip Sheppard. The event was full of surprises, and the participants were amazed to watch a group of web hosting CTO’s including GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving.
