I recently installed the plug-in and want to thank to the author.

I have one question though: is it possible to implement a feature which would automatically direct visitor to registration page on check out? With the account registration enabled, i want to have the ability to direct visitors to registration page rather then have a pop up which asks me to sign in or register but in fact does nothing when you click "OK" button.

Is there any way to link that "OK" button to registration page?

Thank you in advance.

Default Single Sign-On API and Joomla 2.5x Silver Account

I'm building a Joomla 2.5 site using the RocketTheme Halcyon template and ideally need a SSO as the site sells products that are 'age restricted'. The web store only become visible after the customer logs in thru the Joomla login. Rather than having to sign in again, the SSO API is what I need. I'm a bit confused as to where the plugin is at after reading http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-... . I also had a look at what Carlos Guimaraes had to say - http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?p=32852 and I have looked for the widget which I cannot find. Thought it would be included as part of the Ecwid Extension download.

Could you please advise;
  1. Is there a working version of this API Ecwid plugin for Joomla 2.5x?
  2. If So, where can I download the plugin?

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi,

Could you provide more details? What registration page do you mean? Where does that 'OK' button displayed? How can I reproduce it? Any screenshot or step-by-step instruction would be very helpful. Also, please provide access to your store page if possible so I could look into it (you can send the credentials to me via private messages). Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Please refer to the first post of this thread:
http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?p=32804

In that post, Carlos Guimaraes provides the plugin installation files and the instructions. Did you try to install it? Please let me know if you have any issue with installation.

Hello,

thank you for your swift reply.

I have installed a single sing-on plugin here: http://efficient-heating-solutions.co.uk/

With this plugin on and option "Require customers to create accounts on checkout" in Ecwid control panel enabled, unregistered customers, when clicking on the "Checkout" button, are asked to sign in or create an account to place the order. The problem here is that when you are not registered and you click on the "checkout" button you see a pop up window asking you to sign in or register. My question was: is it possible to integrate an option for this plugin to take you directly to registration page instead of having this pop up which asks you to sing in or create an account?

I think this option is ok but for some customers it will be quite confusing to click on "Checkout", see this message and look for how to register in order to buy items.

Please visit my site and try to place an order to see what exactly happens when you click on the "checkout" button.

Thank you in advance

Thank you for the details. Now I see what you mean.

Yes, it is possible to integrate such an option. As far as I understand, you can do it by setting a special sign in URL that will be taken into account by Ecwid SSO API on your store page so every time Ecwid needs a customer to be logged in it will direct them to the specified URL. Please refer to this for the details:
http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/43883623/...

You can either add the necessary changes to the code of installed Joomla module or create and publish your own HTML module that will add definition of the sign in URL on the store page. If you need help with development of such a modification, you can contact our friends from Qualiteam at sales@qtmsoft.com . They will be glad to help.

Did you get anywhere with this? I am looking to do the exact same thing with restricted access to a Halcyon website storefront until the user successfully signs into Joomla. Then of course I dont want to make them sign in again in Ecwid in order to buy something...

Do I need to stay with Joomla 1.5?

There are two versions listed in the first post - one for 1.5, another for 1.7 and later. Just get the one that matches the version of your Joomla.

Thanks for the reply... I saw the first post, and as it only lists 1.5 and 1.7, nothing is mentioned about 2.5.

Will the 1.7 version also work with also joomla 2.5 ?

Thanks
