Exclamation Shipping by Zones and Item Numbers

Hello!

I'm enjoying Ecwid so far, lovely cpanel interface. Everything seems to make lots of sense to me. Designing is straightforward as is creating zones and adding products.

My question is:

I am selling cds and tshirts and a couple of other small items. I have created about four zones, and this is how I want to cost my shipping:

Zone 1 Countries
AU

Zone 1 First Item
$5

Zone 1 Additional Items
$2.50

Zone 2 Countries
US,NZ,CA

Zone 2 First Item
$15.00

Zone 2 Additional Items
$8.00
Etcetera etcetera. No handling charges.

How do I achieve this?

Thanks so much in advance,

Alana

Exclamation shipping matrix by quantity and zone

i found this on another free ecommerce site, and it's a good alternative explanation of what i'm looking for.

Quote:
Option 4 : shipping array by quantity

This is the first of the two mechanisms that use an array or table of values to calculate shipping. In this case, as in Option 2, the calculation is based on the total quantity of items in the cart. However the value of the shipping applied to each product depends on the number of products purchased.

As an example; your customer chooses to purchase 6 items from your store. You charge the customer $10 for the first item and $5 for the next 3 items and nothing for the last 2 items making a total of 1 * $10 + 3 * $5 + 2 * 0 = $25 for shipping. You can use up to five bands in this way creating a scale of shipping charges.
HELP!!!!!

Hello Ecwid Team,

We just upgraded our membership to silver but we need to know if this would work perfectly with our store. Our store caters to clients in the U.S. and Canada but we deliver to destinations here in the Philippines. I need to set up zones according to our 3 main group of Islands specifically Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. If there is step by step instructions so that I can set this up? Please help me.

Thanks,

Archie

A note: I worked out how to set this up myself, eventually! When I get a chance, I will write some instructions on how I did it.

Thanks, AnchorAndHope, I look forward to your post, in the meantime I'm still trying to figure out shipping by total cost. some of my products have options that raises the $ value. example: 1 bouquet of rose (main product) + a box of chocolates (option + $10). Main product cost $48 with the option it would total 58 which supposedly is free shipping.
If I understand the work around correctly I should put weight = price of the main product. How about the options? I would do some test and see what the coupons do and see what happens.

To set the different weight when some options are selected, you can use the product combinations feature available in Ecwid for Silver plan accounts.

For each set of the option values that changes the price and hence needs the different weight, create a combination and assign the correct resulting price and weight at the same time for it (combinations do have an independent price, weight, image and SKU, so you can change any of those freely for each set of options).

This way you can still have the correct free shipping at specified order total even when the price is adjusted by options selected.
