Default EcwidTools and Ecwid - who is responsible for Google Merchant Feed

Hello again.

Our company has come to its final crossroads with whether or not we can continue to use Ecwid as a shopping cart.

We love the ease of use, the social integration, the simplicity of using Ecwid. However, that the script must be manually entered into EcwidTools for mpn, upc, brand, etc., just to (fingers crossed here) get the products to hopefully feed to Google is absurd. These are fields that should be present as the product is being loaded, THEN that information would be fed into EcwidTools. I do not see how this is EcwidTools' responsibility.

I would understand these extra fields not being available in the free version of Ecwid, but as a paid subscriber, I feel this should have been a PRIORITY for Ecwid to remedy as soon as complaints started to arise after Google changed their requirements.

This is not an EcwidTools problem. EcwidTools is AWESOME and is a great "middle man" - they've gone above and beyond to compensate for what Ecwid should have done and still should do.

I am currently, regretfully, comparing other shopping carts today so our company can make a move away from Ecwid.

Best,
Kristina.

This needs fixing asap.
For this you need, at the end of the description of the products, you specify the attributes that you lack the in the following format:

brand|Red Dingo|
mpn|100-440-0.750-3434-A|
ean|5704327946915|
...

Kristina

I am at exactly the same point! I too think ecwid is fantastic but there are just some very basic and essential elements missing for me to continue using this as a serious sale platform going forward.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. I'd like to see the free utility you mention in another post. Where would I download it? I only saw the available-for-purchase Ecwid Quickbooks Exporter program on your link.

Thanks again,
Kristina.

Hi Kristina,

It's an early beta and a little slow so I haven't posted yet. But If you like.

PM me your email address and I will send you a copy.

Ask Tim if he'll let you test drive the new Google Products tool. It's great. Works perfect!

Also : I highly recommend that everyone paypal $5 to Tim if you are using or have used his tool. Obviously he took the time to write this program, and he needs our support.

Don't know about Ecwid, but perhaps they (should) have some interest in this too, instead of sending people to EcwidTools, which still lacks Brand / MPN.

Please do not mislead people. =)

http://gbase.ecwidtools.com/91096.xml

Here's an example feed created EcwidTools, and it includes brand and mpn.

Script EcwidTools create feeds with all necessary attributes. And he does have a very long time (in particular, it supports MPN and BRAND ever since the fall).

You have a very strange way to promote your product: regulary spam in the this forum thread. Do not you just enough that you're lying in his forum thread? Why do you always want to deceive people, and here?
