Eugene, I appreciate your prompt and thoughtful response. That is another of the reasons I have stayed with Ecwid to this point. I agree with what you say in most part and don't look forward to moving to a different product, in part for the reasons you outline. I will, however, be introducing dozens, perhaps hundreds, of clients over the next 10 to 12 months to whichever cart I recommend and a Google interface is a critical requirement. This could be significant revenue to the cart company with which I am associated. I am pleased to hear about, and look forward to seeing, your new Google integration. At this point, if you can deliver on that one item, you will keep my business. I do hope it is in place before I decide on an alternative. You are right about the inconvenience of such a move. Should I make the move to another product I wouldn't be moving back!

Default EcwidTools and Google XML feed

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I've added the mpn and brand in the format suggested by EcwidTools and many of my products are still not feeding (all products had been feeding prior to the new Google rules).

My store's url is: http://blackhawkhardware.com/shop-online/

Perhaps you can see where I am making a mistake.

I appreciate any suggestions. I very much enjoy using Ecwid and would rather not change carts.

Best,
Kristina.

Here is a prime example... this product should be feeding yet it's not: http://blackhawkhardware.com/shop-on...

Am I formatting the script incorrectly?

Thank you very much.

Thumbs up

For Ecwid to send people to Ecwidtools.com, when they don't support customers nor provide helpful / simple clear instructions on how to make it work... They may very well be a 3rd party company, but ECWID is sending us there -- instead of facing the problem their subscribers are having. I find that sort of disheartening.

" Now, since the reach and necessity of Google Merchant Center has much expanded (and so did the demand of Ecwid user for integration with it), we started working on the built-in integration to Google Merchant Center. So, after a short while it will be available to Ecwid users."

Google is a HUGE necessity, and as a developer - google products search has always been a good avenue for my clients / and their products. They'll never stop being the 10,000 lb gorilla in the room, at least not any time soon.

Appreciate the fact that Ecwid is working to resolve this now, instead of using a 3rd party. This is an integration problem which should be fixed @ Ecwid ... period.

Cool Problem with URLs

I've used the ecwidtools xml file and a homemade csv/txt file in Google Merchant feed. The ecwidtools xml file adds "/products" to the urls) - I'm working with them on that.

The txt file is a different matter. ALL the urls are correct in it as I copy/pasted them myself product page-by-product page. Google will add the items BUT in the "Data Quality" area, I get errors on half the products with this error message:
"The URL specified in your data feed wasn't working correctly when we reviewed this item."

Here's the weird thing - when I click the url Google shows, I see my product page! I've done this several times over the past few days (delete feed, add feed, upload txt and xml file) - same result each time.

BTW, my GM data feed (txt file) worked perfectly until Mar 24. I did nothing to the file but resave it so it would have a new file creation date.

I'm mystified and stymied.

I see your product in the feed, and with him all is well.

You need to check with the Google Support, why do they reject the product without giving a reason.

Apparently you have previously entered a URL in a panel shop. Now, in preferences you store the correct URL, in the near future (when the feed will be updated again) it will be correct and in the feed.

Hi

I too am having issues... all my product feed has been removed by google due to missing brand and man attributes.. there is now way of adding these in either ecwid or ecwidtools.

This needs fixing asap.

As far as I know, EcwidTools allows to add those attributes to your feed. Please consult them on the exact ways to do that.
