Wrong Shipping Charge in Paypal
Hello,
I just received my first order on my store, and was very excited. However, when I sat down to make sure everything was in place to fill the order the numbers did not add up.
The price of the products was $99.95 USD. Cost of shipping was $10.41 USD. Bringing the total to $110.36 USD.
Paypal charged the customer $106.95 USD, then took out its 4.5%.
I ran a demo sale through the store using the same shipping location as my customer did and completed the transaction through Paypal. At the Check out in the Paypal terminal, it showed the shipping as only $7.00.
I need to know how to fix this to insure Paypal charges the full shipping costs.

You most probably have shipping charges/methods set up in your PayPal account. They override what Ecwid sends as a shipping cost, that's why you get incorrect shipping charges at PayPal's side while having everything set up correctly and displaying in Ecwid.
In order to always apply Ecwid's shipping charges you need to do the following:
- In your PayPal account go to the "Profile → Shipping Calculations". (or "Shipping calculator").
- Then select the checkbox next to the shipping method for a specific currency. Click the "Edit" button.
- Set "Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator's settings" to "Yes". Click the "Save Changes" button.
- Perform these steps for each shipping method set in your PayPal account.
(from our knowledge base, the article about PayPal Standard setup).
After performing these steps you will always have the shipping charges from Ecwid appearing correctly in the transactions on the PayPal side.

Hello,
I also have issues with Shipping and Taxes module settings and use. In the Shipping module I've created the following:
1. My own "User-defined Methods" for EU zone with the following data:
EU (Zone) || 3 (Delivery time, days) || 1.50 (Per order,€) || 0.00 (Per item,€) || 0.00 (Percent change, %) || 0.00 (Per kg,€)
2. In the Taxes module I've created my own TAX with the following data:
Tax name: DDV
Tax applies to: Subtotal
Zone defines by: Billing address
EU (Zone) || 21,00 (Rate, %)
Anyway. When I test the product ordering within my store I always as the Checkout values get the following numbers:
Shipping = 21,00€
Tax = 0,00 €
Thanks in advance for your suggestion what could be the solution for this issue.

I've inspected your setup.
The DDV tax is just disabled in your shop ( http://awesomescreenshot.com/069fny2d3). You need to enable it in order to apply to your products.
As to shipping cost, the only product in your shop has a shipping cost defined for it on the Tax and Shipping tab ( http://awesomescreenshot.com/0f3fnys76). The products with shipping cost being set this way are taken out from general calculation of shipping cost and will add their fixed cost multiplied by quantity into the total shipping cost.
So, you either need to set the correct per item shipping cost to your only product in the Fixed rate field of the Tax and Shipping tab pictured above, or set the Shipping freight dropdown on that tab into "Use Global Settings" position to always prefer the shipping cost calculated from your user-defined shipping method.

Hi Eugene - I have the same problem as this thread. The shipping charge is multiplied by the number of items in the bag. So instead of being charged £3.99 for postage if you order 10 items you are charged £39.90 (£3.99 x 10).
I have followed your advice on Paypal and disabled my shipping charges but the layout in my Paypal profile is different to the one you describe, there is no checkbox.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello,
I've inspected your site. As far as I can see, shipping calculates properly. Could you describe how I can reproduce the issue?

Hi - I am also having issues with shipping charges. I use USPS and I'm having two different problems:
1. Ever since the post office increased its prices a few months ago, these new prices are not showing up when calculating shipping charges for customers. What do I need to do to ensure that the proper shipping amount is charged?
2. If a customer orders more than 1 item, sometimes the shipping amount is increased based on the cumulative weight of the items and sometimes it is not (the price charged is as if the customer just ordered one item). Please advise.
Thanks,
Kalyn

Eugene, HELP!! I'm getting my first orders and am having this same problem. I actually called Paypal support and I don't *have* any shipping settings set up with Paypal, so Paypal overriding my Ecwid settings isn't the problem.
My sku #P4P03 item weighs 23 oz., and I've set up shipping at .45 for US/Canada, and .83 World. Just got an order from Australia, and they were charged just 7.50 for shipping, which *doesn't match EITHER of those rates!* (Even for US/Canada it should be $10.35.)
I've had to email the Australian buyer to request an additional $10 shipping -- so not cool.
Help...???!!! It's a mystery! I need to figure this out...
Thanks--Marcy
