Default Customer Email in Admin Notification

Hi, beautiful cart. I've been trialling VM and using Hika, but this walks all over them both.

I have unticked in General, Cart settings, that customers must create an account.

When they get to Payment details screen, they have to enter their email address, and password is optional (would be nice to get rid of the password boxes altogether).

And off they can go and Confirm the Order.

I get the email notification, but there's no Customer Email in it.

So I edit the Admin Notification of new Order email template.

I added in the tag suggested %customer_email% ... but it doesn't show up in the notification email.

Can you help please.
Have searched forums for many hours looking for a similiar question, but couldn't find any.

And ... It's no point having the email field (if it was required) on each product, as a text box, because of pain of having to enter it in for every product purchased.

That is really odd. The behaviour you are looking for is how it works anyway. That's probably why there's nothing about it in the forums. You can also get rid of the password boxes.

Thx Slice,

So how do you remove the Password box on the Payment Screen, as I don't need them to make an account, I just want to get their email address without having to go into the actual order later and retreive it.

However, I just did another test order, and yes, the email address is coming thru. It was after midnight last night when I was testing this and I swear black and blue that the email address wasn't coming thru. Now it is.

So that's solved.

Just to remove the password box and I think i'm a happy chappy with this product.

Oh, and a quick positive comment about Ecwid. It's the FIRST shopping cart that can be used to "book" an event or tour, as you're able to request a DATE in the checkout process. I love it and will be spreading the love.

Thumbs up SOLVED - remove password from Payment screen

Just searched forum and found how to remove password from payment screen.
Place this in u'r custom css:

div.ecwid-Checkout-PasswordBlock {
display:none;
}

All my problems are solved for now.

I love this cart and will happily get to 100 products and get a silver account.

Sorry, could you please clarify?

I mean, if you're wanting to capture something like their email address using a custom field on the product itself (product options), then every product they select, they have to enter their email address every time.

If it's to select color, or size etc, that's all good, but I was pertaining to collecting their email address there (as an extra option). That was until I got it working.

As previous thread says .... I put the %customer_email% field into the Admin Email and now I can get their email address in the admin notification email.

Am I making any sense?

Thank you for the clarification! Ecwid always asks a customer for his/her e-mail, so that's why I was surprised. Even if you don't see an email in the notifications, it is always stored in the order details.
