How do you Amazon Product or affiliate products?

Is there a way to add affiliate products (amazon, clickbank, etc..) to the shopping cart system. If so can you point me in the right direction on how to do this.

Thanks,

I haven't come across a way yet.

Normally one would need a "catalogue style" of shopping cart; i.e. one that doesn't have "Add To Bag".

It is possible to set Ecwid so the "shopping bag" will only appear if it somebody adds something to it. If the "Add to Bag" button is not shown then nothing can be added to the bag, so the checkout stage cannot be reached.

In theory if you could switch off the "Add To Bag" you might be able to do it, by using an affiliate link within the product description. I know you can remove various items of text in Ecwid by using custom css.

It is a bit late now, I'll have a look tomorrow to see if the "Quantity" and "Add To Bag" can be removed.

I'm sure Eugene will be able to tell you if he beats me to it.

Morning has arrived so here is how to remove the "Add To Bag Icon" and Quantity Box. Providing you select the option of only showing the "Shopping Bag" when an item is placed in it this should work as an affililiate catalogue.

Goto System Settings

Step 1
Click on Design (Horizontal menu) and then click on the CSS Themes.

You need to make a copy of your existing CSS sheet (click on the tab for the stylesheet you are using and then click on the "Duplicate" button).

Step 2
Now make the following alterations to the COPY of your css.

Now first we need to disable the "Add to cart icon", so locate the following in the copy CSS template:

/* Main style for the "Add to bag" button */
div.ecwid-AddToBagButton {
width: 168px;
height: 39px;
cursor: pointer;
outline: none;
}

and replace

width: 168px;
height: 39px;
cursor: pointer;
outline: none;

with

display: none;

so now it should read

/* Main style for the "Add to bag" button */
div.ecwid-AddToBagButton {
display: none;
}

NEXT is remove the quantity text box, so locate the following in the Copy CSS

Locate
/* The quantity textbox */
input.ecwid-productBrowser-details-qtyTextField {
width: 25px;
margin-left: 8px;
vertical-align: middle;
border: solid 1px #898989;
}

and replace

width: 25px;
margin-left: 8px;
vertical-align: middle;
border: solid 1px #898989;

with

display: none;

so now it should look like

/* The quantity textbox */
input.ecwid-productBrowser-details-qtyTextField {
display: none;
}

Now to remove the "Qty" label;

Locate the following in the copy css

/* The "Qty" label */
div.ecwid-productBrowser-details-qtyLabel {
display: inline;
font: bold 14px tahoma, geneva, verdana, sans-serif;
color: #000000;
vertical-align: middle;
margin-right: 3px;
}

and replace

display: inline;
font: bold 14px tahoma, geneva, verdana, sans-serif;
color: #000000;
vertical-align: middle;
margin-right: 3px;

with

display: none;

so now it should read

/* The "Qty" label */
div.ecwid-productBrowser-details-qtyLabel {
display: none;
}

Then click on "activate" under "Save" on the right hand side and then click on save.

Remember to create your own "Buy Now" button, and insert that into the product description and link it through to the relevant affiliate site.

THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU TICK THE FOLLOWING BOX

Hide bag if empty

in the "Sysyem Settings - General - Cart section".

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
There is no out of the box solution (feel free to register an idea), however a workaround is available.

You can hide the "Add to cart" button and show the affiliate link instead of it for some products using JavaScript: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136

Hi,

If you'd like to redirect your customers from Ecwid product pages to Amazon pages, please, refer to this article for instructions:
http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/48172585/...xternal%20site
Also in this forum thread we offer several solutions for similar request: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11434

Or else, you may want to sell your products on Ecwid storefronts (which can be opened on your website and/or Facebook page), and at the same time load your products to Amazon ads. Thus you will have several selling channels. For information about integrating Ecwid with Amazon Product Ads, please refer to http://kb.ecwid.com/w/page/67525245/...0Product%20Ads

Default Discontinuation of Amazon Product Ads

Starting on October 31, 2015 Amazon has permanently discontinued with Amazon Product Ads service. Merchants are no longer able to upload product feeds to it and display product ads to customers at Amazon.co.uk. Hence, Amazon Product Ads is no longer available in Ecwid Control Panels (Promotions -> Marketplaces). The ability to generate feeds for Amazon Product Ads has been permanently disabled as well.

You may find an alternative for Amazon Product Ads from the marketplaces we continue to support, like Google Shopping, eBay Commerce Network and others. Here you can view a full list of them: https://help.ecwid.com/customer/en/p...2-marketplaces

If any additional questions appear, please, don’t hesitate to ask. We’re very glad to help you!

I am using a custom code plugin so that it's easier for me and also any updates won't affect any coding changes i make.
So, i am used to writing in things like this:
.site-info {display: none;}
And it gets the job done.
However, for the problem of removing the add to bag button, i have inspected the element and tried to add the appropriate bit to my code plugin and do the same thing with a {display: none;} , but it's not working.
I've tried different things and tried using different parts of the code, which looks quite long:
ecwid-btn.ecwid-btn--primary.ecwid-btn--addToBag
I've tried .ecwid-btn--addToBag {display: none;}
and many other varieties and it doesn't work.

I was wondering if someone could please update the info in this post, to a solution that works for using code plugin.
Or, tell me how to get into the code, if that's the only way.

Would really appreciate your help!

Otherwise I'll have to search for a different ecommerce store, what a shame, i do like this one, and i've spent hours on it already.

... Found a solution, see next post, it's on page 2... i couldn't find it myself then realised it went to the next page

into custom css (settings, design, css) paste the following:

button.ecwid-btn.ecwid-btn--primary.ecwid-btn--addToBag {
display:none;
}

this will get rid of add to bag button
Took me all day to figure out.
This extremely short article was incredibly useful, what gave me the answer: https://support.ecwid.com/hc/en-us/a...ove+add+to+bag
I basically examined the code above to an actual inspection of the element and noticed the difference, then adjusted for a new element to be changed.

You no longer need to get rid of the mini cart as this is done by default now, as no one can add to bag.

Hope this doesn't get taken down, hope it will help some people.
xxx
