My site is online for 6 weeks and I have already made sales through my store!

Do your customers need to know SKU codes of your products? If no, I suggest removing them:

Isn't the SKU code like the product number? I use it so that I can easier identify the product if the customer asks about it through phone or email.

In future I will have a lot more products that will be very similar to each other with minor differences, so just the heading would not be enough to identify them.

Can I use the SKU nr for this or is it still better to remove it?

Yes, SKU is a unique number of a product set by a store owner or a vendor.
If you use it, then of course it isn't necessary to remove it.
