Default Handling Fee Option Added Yet?

Last year there was not an option to add a Handling Fee to orders. Is this still the case?

I'm not talking about shipping - we don't use shipping. We just need the option to add a fee to each order.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, handling fees feature is still yet to be done in Ecwid. You can vote for this idea: http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-... to get notified when it is ready to use.

Thanks Eugene. Sure wish I could figure a way to work around this but I'll have to wait until Ecwid adds this as an option.

Default Handling Charge - needs to be implemented

There are almost 300 votes now to get a handling charge function available for orders. Why has this seemingly simple feature not been implemented yet? It's a core need for an online store.

We thoroughly understand that there are many features that are considered 'core functionality' by many merchants, which are not yet present in Ecwid. And we are going to add that functionality, of course. The reason why it wasn't there from the beginning is the following: Ecwid is a solution that utterly differs from many other shopping carts, it is built on the other principles and with other constraints - hence it had to be built from scratch. Ecwid thus developed in small steps - every release delivered a few totally usable features and with every such step Ecwid became more and more mature. We chose the functionality to implement on each step from the ideas submitted by our users.

We also understand, that each business has its own unique requirements, and we here in Ecwid are eager to meet them all. As you understand, it is impossible to integrate all the requested features at a time. That is why the ideas are implemented according to their popularity, so the ones that are most demanded - i.e have the most number of votes - are added first. We believe this is a fair approach since it lets us meet the requirements of the majority of users. Please check the ideas top -http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-customer-suggestions-ideas-for-ecwid/filters/top So Handling charges functionality will definitely be added in its turn.

Has this been added yet? I'm looking around the back end and not seeing any place to add in handling fees.

No, handling fees are yet to be done, unfortunately. If you vote for this idea: http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-... you will be notified of its status changes, so you will know when it is ready.

That's a deal breaker now for us, sorry to say. We were all set to upgrade to your premium level too! Unfortunately since you do not have the ability to add on handling fees we're going to have to utilize a different shopping cart service.
