Stamps.com integration - How do I do this?
I've Googled. I searched the forums. I even double checked stamps.com and yes it says I can integrate Ecwid with it. Yet I can not find a single tutorial explaining how to do this.
Help!

Unfortunately, Ecwid doesn’t integrate with Stamps.com service yet. If you consider that this functionality should be added in Ecwid, please, vote for this idea here: http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-... and we will email you when it is released.
However, Stamps.com allows to import CSV files as I know, so you can just export your orders from Ecwid manually, import them to Stamps.com and print labels then.

I don't understand why stamps.com advertises that it works with Ecwid when indeed it doesn't.
You could make the case that it does technically. Through a fair amount of hacking. But it won't update orders as shipped automatically like one would want: a one click solution.
A message to future googlers considering using stamps.com. DON'T.

Hi Lawrence,
Stamps.com is working on a direct integration with Ecwid, but the project is still in development. Until then, you can upload your Ecwid data files via CSV, Excel, XML or ODBC file into Stamps.com right now. Once the data is imported and your labels are printed, you can also post-back mail class, shipping date and delivery confirmation number into an export file that can be uploaded back into Ecwid.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Eric

"Stamps.com is integrated with Ecwid, a free, full-featured and lightning-fast shopping cart and e-commerce solution that can easily be integrated to just about any existing site in minutes."
Honestly, this is just an outright lie. I too, like the OP, read the Stamps.com bannering of ECWID and believed that there was some kind of direct integration offered -- there isn't. Sure you can export this, import that and so, but that's 100 different applications out there, none of which consider that "integration." It's import/export capability.
Stamps.com should seriously consider revising this statement on their website, as it's simply not true.

Yes, I can see your point. Indeed, importing is not a direct integration. Their site should state this more clearly. So, you as acustomer can contact Stamps.com and report this problem, so that they correct their claims. We cannot hold responsibility for stamps.com website and what they claim there.
Furthermore, I'd suggest to ask them for a proper integration, which can be currently done with the rich set of Ecwid's APIs.
And if you need an alternative solution, the T-HUB from Atandra, a solution to connect Ecwid with QuickBooks, can be used to export your shipping information into the shipping tools of the carriers.

I posted my concerns in this thread because we have a "Stamps.com Inc." user posting here. I figured since this user works for Stamps.com and is already apprised of the problem, that my concern would be heard.

One of our clients is using stamps.com after the order is imported into QuickBooks via our Ecwid-Quickbooks Exporter.
I would like to offer tighter integration, however I don't see in the API how you can update shipment status and tracking information. Am I missing something?
Do you have an example import file that will handle the status and tracking updates?
Thanks
Tim
