Default Paypal IPN not set up before sales were made

I set up a Paypal account but did not get the IPN set up before I started receiving payment through the ecwid plugin on my website. Now those transactions show up in the ecwid control panel as accepted but nothing has showed up in my Paypal account yet. What steps need to be taken to remedy this situation?

If an IPN is not set up in your PayPal account, the transactions will show up in PayPal, but in Ecwid the orders will stay unfinished (IPN informs Ecwid that a customer did actually complete the payment on PayPal, so the order can be accepted).

If an order was placed in Ecwid, but was never visible on PayPal, it may only mean you have misconfigured the PayPal settings in your Ecwid control panel, and customers were paying to another PayPal account.

Can you please detail, if you really meant there are orders exactly in Ecwid control panel, paid with PayPal but not appearing in your PayPal transaction history? If so, can you please let me know the exact orders numbers?

We have also had a similar problem.
Customers orders were going through to paypal fine until 11th May, from then on we have had no payments through to paypal.
We checked our account settings for paypal on Ecqwid today, and found the Email address was wrong (and not known by ourselves) so changed it to the correct one, and orders from today have gone through to paypal fine.
How can we get the money back, that we assume is sitting in the incorrect account? (from 11th May - today)

You need to register the PayPal account under the email that you had in your settings before. The money are inside PayPal, waiting for the receiving account to become active, so once you create one, they will be transferred into it and you will be able to withdraw or re-transfer them.
