Getting customer's information via the API

Hello,

Is there some way to receive a notification (like the Instant Order Notification) when a customer is registered?

If not, is there a similar way I could achieve this effect?

Hi,

The customers in your Ecwid store can register in two ways:
- Click on 'Sign in' link and then register a new account in your store
- Customer adds items to the bag and then, if you require to create accounts in your store on checkout, he will have to register a new account on payment options step.

In the first case customers register their account when they visit the store regularly and they need their shipping address remembered in their account in your store so they don't have to enter the same address all the time they make a purchase in your store.

I see that you need to get a notification to your email when a new customer registers an account in your store. Unfortunately this functionality is not available for you out of the box. If you think that this feature needs to be implemented in Ecwid, please vote for this idea here: http://ideas.ecwid.com/forums/22031-...dmin-about-reg If this idea will be high on demand, we will certainly consider adding it to Ecwid in future Ecwid updates.

In the second scenario, when a customer registers at the end of checkout process, you receive a notification to your email when the order is placed, paid or rejected. You can manage and edit the templates for store admin notifications in Ecwid control panel > System settings > Mail > Admin notifications.

So basically if you require the customers to register on checkout, then you are already receiving notifications about new accounts in your Ecwid store.

However I think that you will benefit more from disabling such feature. When a customer is required to register somewhere, most probably it will affect sales in your store, because the registration is like an unnecessary action for the customer, the needs to buy a single product from you right now and he is forced to register. You can enable/disable this feature in Ecwid control panel > System settings > General > Checkout settings > Require customers to create accounts on checkout.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you.
