I can't give a screen shot right at the moment because I have to act as if I am charging the account. With that said the error is exactly as described as the first poster. But, let me first tell you how I got into this problem and that might help you guys out.

when setting up the account for authorize.net it asks for this information...

API Login ID : Check
Transaction Key : check
MD5 Hash Value : ???? What is that? <<< this is the start of the problem. The authorize.net rep told me it is up to me if I wanted to use it or not as it was an "added security measure." So I went to my authorize.net put in a phrase and hit save and went to ecwid and typed the exact same phrase into ecwid. so if the md5 hash phrase was 21jumpstreet I put that into ecwid as well.

Hit transaction type as authorize and captive and then save.

I tried to put in a transaction with my card and it says "Transaction Failed" yet, over at authorize.net the payment really did go through and I had to void the transaction.

I hope that is detailed enough to explain the situation.
