Hello,
I am researching various online shopping carts and ecwid looks like a nice option. However, I am trying to figure out if the demo shown on the website is the free version or the other paid plans. I am interested in using the free version but definitely want to be able to input individual SKUs and prices for each product. Can anyone tell me if this feature is really not available in the free version?

Talking of SKUs and prices, they are certainly available in free version, among many other useful features. Please feel free to register and check how it works. After registration, you'll be able to log in to your control panel and check everything yourself. Moreover, a simple store version of your storefront will be available right after registration, so you'll see how your store looks in action.
